I found this fantastically great website, Powerofmoms.com thanks to my friend Wendy Paul. She shared this article through a link on her facebook wall. The article was so fantastic; I just had to share it with you.
The ladies who run this site, April Perry and Saren Eyre Loosli fill a need many of us moms have. If you haven’t read their article Your Children Want YOU, you really should. We can’t allow ourselves to be pressured by all the options around us. It’s nice to have options, but we can’t let them rule our lives.
As I read the article I also noted that the items they referenced on Pinterest were someone’s big major decorating accomplishments. Sometimes we assume everyone is making their own flower soaps every day, but that just can’t be the case, and if it is, it is at the expense of something I would argue is a lot more important, you know…like their kids.
Have a read and then go do something fun with your kids. They’ll love it!
I read that article last week and was so happy to see others feel the same way! I do like using Pinterest for ideas and “dreaming” but sometimes I feel bad after being on there realizing I am not that crafty person and will never have that “perfectly decorated” home. Thanks for the reminder to live in the here and now and be happy with all that I have instead of what I don’t have.
Thank you Kristin for this reminder…I needed it!
